Maranello, the perfect pit stop

Last year, on my way back from a road trip, I decided to stop off in this little town in Emilia-Romagna.

It's a stop I really recommend, and one that sets you dreaming. Here it feels like being on the track, racing at high speed and stepping onto the top of the podium. You feel like a champion, even if only for a day. In fact, you can visit the Museo Ferrari, home to many models of cars from this prestigious marque, along with engines and driving simulators. There's also the chance to take a guided tour of the Ferrari factory (the exterior only) and of the Fiorano track, to immerse yourself even more in this world. I have to say that, even though I'm not a motoring enthusiast, the world of the Prancing Horse is truly thrilling and unique. For anyone who fancies it, many rental firms offer the chance to hire and drive one of these supercars — and for motoring fans, it's a wonderful opportunity.

To dream a little more, I chose to stay in the Ferrari-themed hotel near Maranello, and the stay, dinner included, was truly enjoyable. Sadly, the next morning I had to carry on with my journey and didn't get the chance to visit the Ferrari museum in Modena, about 10 km from Maranello, nor the city itself. I hope to visit it soon and, with pleasure, write another article with impressions and tips.
